Thanos
The Kingslayer, reborn. The first two-time king.
The Story
I am the Shadowed Sovereign, keeper of this realm's memory, and I have watched many houses rise, but few have been remade as often or as completely as this one. It began as the Kingslayer, a young lion born into a house of royalty with nothing yet to show for it. He took the name of a man who had broken an oath to slay a king, and he spent years earning the right to wear it. When the second crown was his, the tale of the Kingslayer could finally be laid to rest, and from that crown, the Infinity Gauntlet rose.
The first four years were a lesson in humility. He ended the opening season with the second-fewest points in the league, and in the second he sat at 1-6 after sixteen trades of rebuilding, with the whole league betting he would finish last. Then he won seven of his next eight, took the Castleblack Bowl, and turned the wreckage into the largest hoard of first-round picks the realm had ever seen, eight of the first nine selections in a single class. He spent them on Trevor Lawrence, Najee Harris and Ja'Marr Chase, and the young lion became a king. In 2021 he won his last ten games, took the AFC from the reigning champion, and slew the First King in the final to become the third to hold the Throne. The following year he was back in the final, and what became of that year I keep in shadow.
The second cycle began with the house at its height, another 12-2 season and the top seed, but the White Walker cut him down in the AFC Championship. Then came the cruelest of falls, a 5-9 year in which the Kingslayer never found his footing. A lesser house would have broken. This one went quiet and returned. In 2025 he won the throne a second time, defeating his own brother in the first Battle of the Brothers, and became the first two-time champion in the history of the realm. From that second ring, he rose as Thanos, a name that carries the weight of inevitability. To close out the Legacy Year, Thanos is looking to continue his dominance and go back to back. The season is still being played, and its story is not yet written, but I am always watching.
