The Legend

The Cup began at the 2023 live draft in Arkansas. The two conferences meet on the course, AFC against NFC, and it has been played at every live draft since, except in the Legacy Years. Two prizes hang on the line, and neither is for the faint of heart.

How the Cup is waged

The Captains

Each conference is led by the house that won it in the Iron Throne championship the year before. The two captains choose the pairings, and who plays with and against whom.

The Tiers

Not every house swings the same. Every house is placed in one of three tiers, and each house has its own point goal.

The Scoring

Your goal is to earn your house’s point total. Go over or under, and the difference goes to your conference’s team score. Beers count for points too.

The Official Rules

  • Clean, lift and place, but no closer to the hole and within a grip length. No moving from the rough to the fairway, or out of bunkers.
  • A lateral drop is a one stroke penalty for out of bounds.
  • Gimmies must be awarded by the playing partner from the opposing conference.
  • Pick up at triple bogey.
  • An optional breakfast ball is allowed on the Hole 1 tee shot only.

The higher team score wins the Championship Belt. The Iron Cloak goes to the golfer with the lowest score: total strokes minus beers consumed.

The Championship Belt

A heavy, hand-finished leather championship belt, forged in the style of the wrestling ring and worn like a crown. It goes to the captain of the winning conference.
