Braveheart
The Celtic King. Freeeeeeedom!
The Story
I am the Shadowed Sovereign, keeper of this realm's memory, and I have never seen a house so determined to be free. He calls himself Braveheart, a highland warrior with blue paint on his face and a great sword in his hands, and he fights as the old stories say a free man fights: loudly, stubbornly, and with no thought for whether he will live to see the end of it. Every man dies, he says, but not every man lives. He has spent every season of his reign proving it, and the realm has never once found a way to make him kneel.
He reached the NFC Championship in his very first season and met the fate of everyone that year, the monstrous King in the North. Then the fall came. In 2020 he sank to the bottom of the standings, washed up on a distant shore and became the second Snurg Gurgler, the ultimate shame of the realm, and his punishment was to recreate "I'm on a Boat" in a music video aboard the USS Gurgler, there for the internet to keep forever. Whatever the Snurg took from him, it gave back. He fought his way into the playoffs in 2021 and never looked back. In the Legacy Year he stood in the final against the Kingslayer, and a Monday night game was suspended before it could finish. The league voted that final a No Contest, and both houses carry the wound still. What became of that year I keep in shadow.
The second cycle was the one the realm will remember. In 2023 he took the Iron Throne Championship over the White Walker and became the Fourth King, the only name in the realm to appear on both the trophy of the Throne and the trophy of the Snurg. The next year he returned for the battle the realm calls The Rematch, against the White Walker once more, and this time fell short. It made him the only manager in the realm to play in three straight finals. He has been to the mountaintop and he has been to the bottom, and he has never once pretended to be anything but a man who fights. To close out the Legacy Year, Braveheart is looking to take up the sword once more and cry for freedom. The season is still being played, and its story is not yet written, but I am always watching.
Every man dies, not every man lives.Braveheart
