American Gangster

I am the Shadowed Sovereign, keeper of this realm's memory, and no house in my hall has worn so many faces. He has been Jerry Jones, Full Send, WRU, Knife Talk and The Adams Family, and each name was a new bet that this would be the season it all came together. He arrived at last as the American Gangster, a man who built his empire from nothing and trusts no one to hand him anything. Chaos has followed him through every name he has worn. He does not fear it. He has learned, as the old schemers say, that chaos is not a pit, but a ladder.

In the first season he looked like a contender, with the deadliest trio of receivers in the realm, and he missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker. That same year he became the first champion of the Castleblack Bowl, the first of the realm to climb out of the bottom and earn an extra lotto slip. In 2020 he reached the playoffs at 6-7 and was beaten by No One. Then the injuries came. JK Dobbins went down, and Gus Edwards followed him eight days after the Gangster paid a first-round pick to have him. Over his first three years, the realm scored more points against him than against any other house. He did not break. He took it all in stride, and in the Legacy Year he fought on. What became of that year I keep in shadow.

The second cycle was a long climb. The seasons came and went with the playoffs just out of reach, and the realm began to call him the wild card, a man who is in the hunt one year and gone the next. But the Gangster knows the rain comes with the mud, and he kept building. In 2025 he made it back to the playoffs, and his highest finish in the realm is fifth. He has never played in a final, and he has never stopped believing that he will. To close out the Legacy Year, the American Gangster is looking to run the realm at last and take the throne for himself. The season is still being played, and its story is not yet written, but I am always watching.
